FAQ

How can I begin the program? 1/ To access the courses:
a. Be sure to have at least 3 months minimum of seniority.
b. Make a request to your Director to access the online courses. He will give you a document called “training agreement” that you will both sign, in two copies.
c. You will send a scan of this training agreement to your restaurant's director.
d. Once your request is sent and handled by the administrator, you will receive an invitation by email to join the platform.
e. Once you have accepted the invitation, click on “sign up” and fill in the registration form. Your ids and passwords will be sent to you by email once your registration is complete.
For all questions concerning the invitation received, you can visit the help center of OpenClassrooms.
2/ To start an online path for free, you can submit your online application on the website https://mcdonalds.openclassrooms.com/en/ to get a scholarship.
Where can I find my McDonald's log-in information? The address "administrator" which you need to contact to get your access to the platform will be handed to you by your Director of restaurant, once you have signed the training agreement.
Who is eligible for a scholarship? On applications, employees with at least 1 year of seniority and who will have completed at least 2 courses when they submit their application. The managers, directors and administrators of the restaurants can also apply.
When do I have to submit my application? You can submit your application starting today and until end of December.
How much does it cost? Nothing! With the partnership McDonald's / OpenClassrooms, it's free for the employee!
Which paths can I apply to? You can apply to all of OpenClassrooms' paths which are on the mini website if you have the necessary pre-requisites. Check the required level of diploma for the path you are interested in.
For example, you cannot apply to a path leading to a master's level if you don't have a bachelor's.
How much time does the training on a path last? The path requires approximatively 14h of work per week and lasts roughly 12 months, but some paths may last 24 months. You can train at your rhythm, on top of your professional job at McDonald's.
What are the advantages of getting a scholarship and following a training path?
- Study outside of your work time when you want, where you want: everything is online, no need to commute.
- A mentor is supporting you once a week during the entire time of the training and helps you with the projects of the path. You'll schedule your days and hours of communication together.
- No exams to pass!
- You study at your own pace, depending on your priorities.
- You get a diploma from bachelor to master's level recognized by the French State.
Do I have to follow online courses before enrolling in a diploma path? No, you can submit an application to follow a free diploma path starting from now. However, you will need to follow two online courses after the submission of your application. Ask your restaurant Director for free access to the platform to be able to follow courses (cf How can I start the programme?)
What are the elements of the application for a diploma-award paths?
When submitting your application online, you will be asked to specify and send the following:
- Your first and last name
- Your email
- Your phone number
- The name and address of your restaurant
- The diploma-award paths for which you are applying
- A video of you in which you will detail your project and your motivations in order to obtain a scholarship
- Your answers to the McDonald's Quiz that will be submitted to you
Any incomplete application will not be considered.
When can I take the certifying courses or a diploma-award paths? For the certifying courses and the diploma-award paths, you train when you want, and this, outside of working time. (Cf. Training Agreement)
What is the selection criteria for a scholarship candidate, within the framework of a degree course? Applications will be assessed on the following criteria: sending the duly completed application file, validation of seniority (1 year in the current restaurant), validation of 2 certifying courses, presentation of the project by the employee (video), responses to McDonald's quiz (offered at the end of the form), professional profile and professional skills of the employee (restaurant performance, attendance, motivation, team spirit).
Applications will be evaluated by a selection committee of 5 people from McDonald’s France Services. As part of this selection, the committee will have the opportunity to approach the Restaurant Manager.
If I apply for a scholarship (diploma-award paths), when will I be informed of the response to my application? Upon receipt of the duly completed applications *, a selection committee composed of 5 people from McDonald's France Services will award 25 grants to 25 employees of the brand (candidates) according to the established criteria (Cf. What are the selection criteria for a candidate to the scholarship, as part of a diploma-award paths?).
At the end of this selection, at the end of 2019, candidates will be informed by email of the decision taken, at the email address provided in the application form.
* Any incomplete application will not be considered.

If I leave McDonald’s, do I keep my OpenClassrooms account? The decision to withdraw a license rests with your benchmark restaurant.
